Farooq was born into a Muslim Chohan family in the Pakistani state of Sindh. He received his primary education in Ghotki. Farooq is mainly known for his political videos, which mainly contain fact-checking and explanatory content,

Ahmed's career as an activist began with his campaigns to highlight rural poverty and feudal dominance. Some of his notable initiatives include:
