Submission declined on 8 March 2025 by Win8x (talk). This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of music-related topics). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.

Fresh 4 were a UK dance music act, who had a UK hit single with a cover of the Rose Royce song "Wishing on a Star" in 1989.
Career
[edit]The act consisted of Paul Southey (Suv), Judge, Flynn Thompson and Kirk Thompson (also known as Krust), who is regarded as one of drum & bass and jungle's founders and pioneers.[1][2] Fresh 4's biggest hit was a cover of Rose Royce's hit Wishing on a Star from 1977. The track was based on a slowed down Funky Drummer sample and featured vocals by Lizz E (a.k.a. Lis Elliz). Produced by Smith & Mighty the song reached the UK Top Ten and stayed in the charts for twelve weeks. It featured on the 16th edition of the UK compliation series Now that's what I call Music that was published in December 1989.[3] A second single, Compared to what, which also featured Lizz E, failed to chart, while a final release, Release yourself with vocals by Sister Redz made it to no. 81.[4] Fresh 4 are considered pioneers of the Bristol trip hop music scene which shortly after spawned successful acts like Massive Attack and Portishead.[5] After Fresh 4 stopped making music singer Lizz E stayed on the Bristol scene and worked as a DJ.[6]
