Comment: You need to provide context as well as references. It took me quite a long time to determine that these appear to be musicians. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 23:59, 9 November 2024 (UTC)

Formation
[edit]The group was formed through a collaboration between Stardust Records and HMV, through a project called "BATTLE STREET"[2] that was to launch a street-style unit among members of BATTLE BOYS, a selection project for EBiDAN & KiDS's trainees nationwide who were active in the Kanto region. Members were selected by management based on fan votes and producers' opinions on who best suited the new group. After voting closed on October 15, 2018, the members of BATTLE STREET were announced: Takato Okura, Masaya Sakuragi, Ryota Nagano, Jun Muto, Kaname Yoshizawa and Kazuto Mokudai. A month after, along with BATTLE STREETs 1st single announcement,[3] it was announced that Kohsaku Koizumi from EBiDAN SENDAI would join the group as the seventh member. On July 7, 2019, the group announced their official debut as a unit at the BATTLE BOYS live show "BATTLE BOYS LIVE 2019 ~DREAMS COME TRUE~",[4] and one month later changed their name to "The Cause Lies Within Me."[5]
Their concept as a group involves embracing a positive interpretation of the Japanese word for "cause," and instead places a thematic emphasis on the idea that their activities and works become "causes," triggering the formation of new ideas and creations in the world.[6] Their official fanclub name is "Observer" (感触者; Kansokusha).
The group has established an avant-garde style that combines the genres of J-POP, Japanese rock, hip-hop, and more paired with philosophical lyrics and elements of Vocaloid music.[7] Since debuting, the group has received musical contributions from notable figures in the contemporary J-pop scene, including Ayase from YOASOBI.
In addition to their music activities, the unit are also actors and have provided music for dramas.
