Grace Teo Jia Xuan (Chinese: 张嘉轩, born 20 January 1992) is a Malaysian actress based in Singapore. She began her career as a stunt performer before transitioning into acting, and is known for her roles in Singaporean television dramas such as Shero and Hope Afloat.
Early life and education
[edit]Teo was born in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, and is the middle child in her family.[1] She later moved to Singapore to study at Lasalle College of the Arts, where she was introduced to stunt performance through a course module.[2]
Career
[edit]Teo began working in the entertainment industry as a stunt double for actresses including Carrie Wong in the television drama A Quest to Heal.[3][4] She received formal training in several martial arts, including wushu, aikido, silat, boxing, and Muay Thai, which helped establish her niche in physical and action-oriented roles.
She made her screen debut in the web series The Driver (2021), followed by a role in the psychological drama Truths About Us (2022). In 2023, she co-starred in the heist comedy What The Heist! and played a female bodyguard in the action series Shero.
In 2024, Teo portrayed a Paralympian swimmer in Hope Afloat (浴水重生), a drama focusing on resilience and disability representation.[5][6] Her performance in the series led to a nomination for the Top 10 Most Popular Female Artistes at the Star Awards 2025.[7]
Outside of acting, Teo released her debut Mandarin music video, 放手，回憶裡的你, which was made available on YouTube and Spotify. She also completed filming a Singapore–Thailand romantic comedy, 3 Good Guys, set to be released in 2026 across Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand.[8]
