Grailzee

[edit]

Grailzee is an American online marketplace and luxury watch auction platform. The Florida-based company was founded in September 2022 and offers escrow and authentication services to enable safe watch transactions. Grailzee has received coverage in the watch industry for its focus on technology, trust, and transparency in secondary watch sales.[1]

History

[edit]

Entrepreneurs Kian Salehi, Arash Allaei, and Bryson Sander founded Grailzee. They were co-founders of Bite Squad, a food delivery business that was purchased for about $321 million in 2019.[2] The founders turned their attention to the luxury watch market after leaving the food tech industry, citing personal interest and a perceived gap in trustworthy resale platforms.

Business Model

[edit]

Grailzee operates as an auction-based platform, allowing users to submit watches for review. Approved listings are presented with detailed descriptions and professional photographs. Auctions typically run for 4 to 7 days, with a separate 24-hour flash auction option available.[3]

Grailzee also offers a paid service called "Grailzee Pro," which includes personalized service through one-on-one client advisors and white-glove listing management.[4]

Escrow and Authentication

[edit]

Grailzee's platform includes an escrow and authentication system as a key feature. All watches being sold on the platform are sent to a third-party authentication partner, Bennisson, for inspection. This includes verification of the authenticity of the watch, its condition, and accessories provided by trained watchmakers. A report of inspection is provided to the buyer, who has two business days to review the report and pose additional questions before making the purchase final with a wire transfer. The watch remains in escrow until the transaction is complete.[5]

Reception

[edit]

Several watch publications have featured Grailzee, highlighting its approach to security and user experience. It has been published in WatchTime, WristReview,[6] WatchPro, and Haute Living. There have also been public discussions on websites like WatchCrunch,[7] and consumer ratings are presented on Trustpilot.[8]
