Greg Hayes is an American audio engineer whose work includes film and television. He has won a Grammy for his mixing of the musical score for the animated film Encanto and an Emmy award for his musical score mixing on the film Good Night Oppy.

Hayes has worked on a number of music albums, including the 2013 Stephen Stills box set Carry On, the 2021 jazz album Absence by jazz trumpeter Terence Blanchard, and the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack album for the film Encanto.[1]

Film

Hayes has mixed the musical scores for numerous films, including Encanto,[2][3] Frozen 2,[4] Greyhound,[5] and The Super Mario Bros. Movie.[6] He has also mixed the musical scores for documentary films such as Good Night Oppy.[7]

Awards

In 2022, Hayes won the Grammy award for Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media (including Film and Television) for his work on the animated film Encanto.[3] Hayes won an Emmy in 2023 for musical score mixing on the 2022 documentary film Good Night Oppy.[8] He has also been nominated for Cinema Audio Society score mixing awards seven times, in 2018,[9] 2020 (two nominations),,[4] 2021,[10] 2022,[5] 2023,[7] and 2024.[6]
