HD Renewable Energy (abbreviated as HDRE, TWSE: 6873.[1], ISIN: TW0006873003[2]) is a Taiwanese renewable energy company established in 2016 and headquartered in Taipei[3]. The company was officially included in the MSCI Global Small Cap Indexes, as announced by MSCI Inc. on May 14, 2024[4].

International Expansion

As of 2025, HDRE operates in Taiwan, Japan and Australia[11][12][13]. Through its subsidiaries and joint ventures, he company is involved in the development, engineering, and operation of renewable energy projects across the Asia-Pacific region[14][15].

Australia

In November 2024, HDRE acquired a 9.7% stake in Australian energy company ZEN Energy. The company later resolved, through a board decision, to jointly establish a green energy investment and asset management platform named ZEBRE, in collaboration with the ZEN Energy Group[16].

Japan

In 2025, HDRE secured five new Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects in Japan. These projects are eligible for 20-year government-backed capacity payments, through the Japanese government's long-term decarbonised power source support scheme under the 2025 auction[8].HDRE also formed a joint venture with Mitsubishi Electric, focusing on energy aggregation, as part of a strategic partnership between the two companies[17].
