HeadBox is a UK-based event technology company founded in 2015 by Andrew Needham. The company operates a digital platform that connects users with thousands of event spaces for meetings, parties, and corporate events. It also offers tools for venue marketing, virtual tours, and corporate event sourcing.
History
[edit]HeadBox was founded in London in 2015 by Andrew Needham. The idea for the company emerged from Needham’s frustrations with the traditional venue-booking process, which he found to be inefficient and lacking in transparency.
The company launched its first online marketplace in Summer 2016, enabling users to browse and book event spaces directly. In February 2017, the beta version of HeadBox Business, the platform’s corporate offering, went live. By September 2017, HeadBox had secured its first enterprise client.
In October 2018, HeadBox received its first institutional investment from Guinness Asset Management. In May 2019, the company launched version two of HeadBox Business, streamlining the corporate booking process. That same year, HeadBox introduced Lead Feed, a service designed to deliver high-quality leads to venue partners.
Despite the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the company reported year-on-year revenue growth and expanded its team to 60 employees.
In 2021, HeadBox secured additional Series A funding from Deepbridge Capital and continued to expand its enterprise client base. By 2024, the platform listed over 20,000 event spaces and had raised a total of £13 million in funding. That year, the company was named Venue Finding Agency of the Year by Conference News.
