The ISA101 is a Human-Machine Interface (HMI) standard developed by International Society of Automation (ISA).[1]

The standard recommends technical rules for the design of the displays of the HMI of the following areas:

  • Menu hierarchies
  • Screen navigation
  • Graphics and color conventions
  • Dynamic objects
  • Alarm representation[1]
