Draft:Julian Tran
Submission declined on 16 June 2025 by Rambley (talk). This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.

Comment: Yes, this can certainly be a hoax, although whether it's blatantly so is perhaps debatable. Anyway, as I'm not sufficiently familiar with 49ers line-ups from the 1980s to say whether this indeed is one, or merely an unreferenced BLP on a non-notable player, I'll have to leave it for a more knowledgeable admin to make that call. Julian Tran (born March 4, 1958) in Melbourne, Australia is a former American football quarterback who played in the National Football League for the [[San Francisco 49ers] from 1981 to 1986. Serving primarily as a backup to Hall of Famer Joe Montana, Tran was known for his reliable arm, quick decision-making, and strong leadership presence in the locker room. Though he rarely started, he played a critical role in practice and preparation during the 49ers' early dynasty years, including their victories in Super Bowls XVI and XIX. Tran saw limited action during regular-season games but earned the respect of teammates and coaches alike for his professionalism and readiness when called upon. A standout at Stanford University prior to his NFL career, Tran is often remembered as a key supporting figure in one of the most dominant eras in 49ers history. After retiring from football, he transitioned into coaching and community outreach in the Bay Area.
