KTVJ-LD, virtual channel 3 (VHF digital channel 6), is a low-power television station licensed to Nampa, Idaho, United States. Owned by CMC Broadcasting Company, Inc., it broadcasts theDove TV, Newsmax 2, and CMC-USA, branded as KTVJ 3.[1] The station serves Idaho's Treasure Valley and gained attention for its 2018 acquisition by CMC Broadcasting.[2] In 2024, KTVJ-LD received FCC approval to relocate to UHF channel 26 with a power increase to 15 kW.[3]

History

KTVJ-LD’s initial construction permit (BNPDVL-20090825BZD) was granted by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) on August 25, 2009.[4] In 2018, One Ministries, Inc. sold the permit to CMC Broadcasting for operation in the Treasure Valley, a transaction covered by industry media.[2] The permit was modified on September 20, 2018, and the station signed on after its license to cover (0000138290) was issued on November 15, 2021.[4][5] In 2024, the FCC approved a construction permit (0000251847) to relocate to UHF channel 26 with an ERP of 15 kW, granted on October 3, 2024 (0000167782).[3]

KTVJ-LD broadcasts religious, news, and music programming via theDove TV (3.1), Newsmax 2 (3.2), and CMC-USA (3.3), operated by CMC Broadcasting.[1][6]

Technical information

KTVJ-LD operates on VHF channel 6 with an ERP of 3 kW from a transmitter at 43°45′21″N 116°5′57″W / 43.75583°N 116.09917°W / 43.75583; -116.09917 with a height above average terrain (HAAT) of 792 meters (2,598 feet).[4] Its 2024 relocation to UHF channel 26 will increase its ERP to 15 kW.[3]
