Kelly Wang (草 千 Caochian) is a Taiwanese-American cartoonist and musician born on June 13, 2000.
Education and Career
[edit]Kelly Wang earned a Bachelor in Fine Arts degree from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) in 2023[1]. Their focus was in sequential art, printmaking and illustrations. Through the combination of Asian and American traditional art techniques, Wang explores personal, philosophical and cultural narratives. While a student at SAIC, they co-lead the comics focused group - Xerox Candy Bar. As a Xerox Candy Bar leader, Wang also helped to curate an exhibition and edited the bi-annual publication. [2]
After their time at SAIC, Wang joined Perfectly Acceptable Press. In 2024, Wang received the Emerging Talent Award from Cartoon Crossroads Columbus (CXC).
