Species:

A kidus, also known as kidas, is a hybrid between a sable and a pine marten. Kiduses occur in the wild, where the two species overlap in the Ural Mountains, and are sometimes also deliberately encouraged on fur farms. Kiduses are typically sterile, although there has been one recorded instance of a female kidus successfully breeding with a male pine marten.[1][2]

Morphologicaly, the kidus is intermediate between the two parent species: the fur is denser and softer than on a pine marten but coarser than on a sable, and the tail is longer than a sable's but shorter than a marten's. Kiduses also have a light marking on the throat.[1]
