MAH1 is a Bangladeshi rapper and songwriter from Chhatak, Sunamganj. Known for his powerful lyrics and musical diversity, he gained widespread recognition for his 2024 track ROKTO, released as part of the July Movement 2024. He is also known for his early breakthrough with the viral track Chhatak Cypher in collaboration with Fokir Lal Miah.

MAH1 was born on 7 September 1999 in Chhatak, Sunamganj, Bangladesh. He became passionate about music at an early age, drawing inspiration from global hip hop and his regional Sylheti cultural roots.

Career

Early journey and Chhatak Cypher

MAH1 began rapping in 2014. On 8 December 2022, he was invited by rapper Fokir Lal Miah to collaborate on the track Chhatak Cypher. The song became a viral hit, crossing 2 million views on YouTube and drawing attention within the Bangladeshi underground hip hop scene.[1]

He was later featured again on Fokir Lal Miah’s 2023 track TARGET, which crossed 500,000 views.[2]

Breakthrough with ROKTO

In July 2024, MAH1 released the politically charged rap song ROKTO in support of the July Movement 2024. The track quickly gained national attention, amassing over 1.6 million views on YouTube and earning coverage in major Bangladeshi media.[3][4]

MAH1 and the song were also featured in the 2025 book *Rap-Char* (র‍্যাপ-চার), authored by Dr. Mizanur Rahman Nasim, which documented the cultural impact of the July Movement.[5]

In 2024, MAH1 released the single BHULE THEKO, which became a trending sound on TikTok and surpassed 120,000 views on YouTube. He also released the solo tracks SHOPNER NAYOK and SHARTHO in 2023, showcasing emotional and introspective themes.

MAH1's music blends regional Sylheti influences with modern hip hop styles. His lyrical themes cover social justice, family struggles, political movements, and emotional depth. He has worked across various subgenres such as drill, old school, and trap beats. His writing ranges from aggressive bars to songs exploring sadness, family issues, and social commentary.
