Maksim Gabriel Knecht (born January 5, 1984), known professionally as Maks Gabriel, is a Canadian-American music producer and songwriter. He is known for co-producing songs featured in television series such as Yellowstone, True Blood, and Nashville. His work has been highlighted in publications including Billboard and Forbes.

Gabriel studied classical piano from 1991 to 2002 at the McGill Conservatory of Music in Montreal, training under Marina Goglidze-Mdivani, a student of Emil Gilels.

In the early 2000s, he collaborated with Ryan Kowarsky of RyanDan, producing for Canadian artists including Belly, Massari, Mia Martina, Danny Fernandes, and Tyler Medeiros. His work on Mia Martina's album Devotion earned a Juno Award nomination.[1]

After moving to Nashville, Tennessee, Gabriel worked with artists including Cassadee Pope, Megan Moroney, Radney Foster, Eric Paslay, and members of 3 Doors Down and Sevendust.[2]

Gabriel co-produced the single "I Ain't Livin" by Dani Rose and Brent Cobb, which was featured by Billboard as a must-hear country release in 2025.[3] He also produced "Wild Mustangs" by Justin Biltonen of 3 Doors Down, noted in a Forbes profile about Biltonen's solo career.[4]

Gabriel's music has appeared in several television series. He co-wrote and co-produced the song "Under Your Influence"[5] by Honey County featuring Spencer Crandall, which was featured in Yellowstone Season 2, Episode 9 ("Enemies by Monday")..[6][7] He also co-produced Honey County's "Got It From My Mama".[8]

Additional placements include True Blood, The Mindy Project, Roswell, New Mexico, and Legacies.[9][10]

Gabriel also produced Honey County's 2020 dual release "Cry Wolf" and "Ghost Town".[11] He co-produced a five-song EP for Olivia Faye.[12]
