Metricool is a web[1] and mobile (iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch, BlackBerry and Android) social network and online advertising management tool used to manage social networks and online ads by individuals, agencies or freelancers, created by Juan Pablo Tejela and Laura Montells in 2014. It is headquartered in Spain and has more than 2,000,000 users in 120 countries. The company is based in Spain.

Metricool allows you to use and manage the following social networks through its platform: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Google Maps, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Threads, Bluesky, Twitch, Meta Ads, and Google Ads. Metricool is an official partner of Google[2]. Its most important functionalities are the evolution metrics, social network planning, automatic performance reports and the possibility of creating advertising campaigns from the platform itself.

The idea for Metricool came out of frustration with the lack of solutions to Juan Pablo and Laura's problem. There were no web analytics companies that catered to blogs. Juan Pablo and Laura decided to use their programming skills to develop a solution called Bloggerespacio in 2014. It is based in Spain and has over 2,000,000 users in 120 countries[3]. This website was dedicated to providing bloggers with metrics and analysis of their readership, and their posts in relation to social networks.

Initially, the tool was made free, but there was an apparent need for more social network analysis, so they decided to release a premium version. This version was well received, and gave them the idea to expand their tool to incorporate all social networks instead of just blogs. This action is what led to the conception of Metricool[4].

Metricool became a social media management and online advertising platform that officially launched in January 2015 and has been growing ever since in 120 countries.

Metricool is a platform that works as a single center of operations, with which to manage the main social networks and online ads of a brand or company. It has these main functionalities:

Since 2014, the number of registered users in Metricool has been growing exponentially to reach 2 million users in April 2024.   • Social Media Study 2025: The sample for this study is based on analysis of 21,211,149 analyzed posts from 1,387,457 accounts. In detail, the sample is: 420,504 post from Pinterest, 90,347 videos from Twitch, 16,574,627 posts from Instagram, 1,267,544 posts from X (Twitter), 338,313 posts from Facebook, 1,228,101 videos from TikTok, 519,209 poss from LinkedIn and 772,547 videos from YouTube. The data was collected from September 2023 and September 2024.
  • LinkedIn 2025 Study: The sample of this study is based on the analysis of 577,180 posts from 47,735 LinkedIn pages. The data was collected over January 2023, 2024, and 2025.
  • Microvideos 2024 Study: The sample for this study is based on the analysis of 47,648 YouTube channels, 61,616 TikTok accounts, 232,385 Instagram business accounts and 143,143 Facebook fan pages.
  • Social Ads 2025 Study: Study based on analysis of 503,281 campaigns from 49,417 ad accounts. The data was collected from TikTok and Meta during the first quarter of 2025 (January-March).
  • TikTok 2024 Study: Study based on a total of 87,600 accounts (personal and professional), 1,001,817 videos, and 73,388 images and carousels. The data was collected during 2024.
