Luis Clara Gomes (born 15 March 1984), known professionally as Moullinex, is a Portuguese DJ and record producer from Portugal. He is a founding member of the music label Discotexas.[1]

Biography

[edit]

Luis Clara Gomes was born in Viseu on 15 March 1984.[2][3] He has released four studio albums: Flora (2012), Elsewhere (2015), Hypersex (2017), and Requiem for Empathy (2021), an album that features collaborations with artists such as GPU Panic, Sara Tavares and Selma Uamusse.[4][5][6][7]

In 2007, Moullinex co-founded Discotexas with fellow artist Xinobi, initially a club night at Lisbon's Lux Frágil that evolved into an electronic music label. Throughout his career, he has remixed acts such as Cut Copy, Robyn, and Royksopp, and has been featured on BBC Radio 1, DJ Mag, and Mixmag.[8][9][10]

In 2025, he debuted MXGPU with GPU Panic, a collaborative audiovisual live project that blends dance music in a 360º stage performance.[11]

Musical style

[edit]

Influenced by artists like Vangelis, Giorgio Moroder, Air and Stevie Wonder, his work blends organic and synthetic elements, often exploring themes such as empathy, identity, and technology. Moullinex's discography ranges from dance-oriented electronic music to more introspective productions.[12][13]
