Naz Blacko (2003) is an mauritian artist known for his musical creativity
Biography
[edit]Naz Blacko, whose real name is Nathan Léopold, was born on September 12, 2003, at the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam National Hospital (SSRNH) in Pamplemousse, Mauritius. He comes from a family of artists and is the youngest in the family.
Career
[edit]He first appeared in 2014 in the famous Timambo competition, which brought together all the children of Mauritius and Rodrigue Island. He reached the finals and continued in the singing category. He subsequently entered the hotel industry as a singer at the age of 13 and made a name for himself. In 2018, he won the Most Beautiful Voice award in a competition organized in memory of the late artist Noël Jean. In 2021, he won first place in the Voice competition with the song "Pardonn Mwa," which he composed and which was later revisited by the famous international singer Alain Ramanisum. That same year, he collaborated with MKEA and Mr Superman on reggae-style tracks.
In August 2023, the track "Pardonn Mwa" was released on platforms with a music video, which helped him gain popularity in Mauritius, Rodrigue Island, and Reunion Island. Two months later, in October, he released another track, "NA PA ALLE," with a music video, which helped him reach the TOP 10 for albums of the year 2023.
In 2024, he collaborated with singer Elodie on the song "TO LABSENCE," a reggae love song. In 2025, Naz Blacko plans an album featuring several musical styles, all based on love and disappointment.
