Omar Taliti (born c. 2010) is a Turkish student, wrestler, public speaker, and musician. He is known for his accomplishments in school-level athletics, his 2023 TEDxYouth talk titled Why AI Sucks, and his original musical compositions published online.
Early life and education
[edit]Taliti studies at Braeburn Garden Estate School in Nairobi, Kenya. He takes advanced courses in physics, biology, chemistry, and extended mathematics.[1] He has earned a PLIDA certificate in Italian and holds a Google diploma in digital marketing.[1]
Athletic career
[edit]Wrestling
[edit]Omar competes in the 197 lb (86 kg) weight class and has been wrestling for over seven years.[1] He is also active in taekwondo and other martial arts disciplines.
Martial arts
[edit]Taliti holds a black belt in taekwondo and a brown belt in Tong-Il Moo Do. He has trained under coach Mario De Meo, a former Olympian from the 2000 Sydney Games.[1]
Public speaking
[edit]In 2023, Taliti delivered a TEDxYouth talk at the American Overseas School of Rome titled Why AI Sucks, where he argued for a more cautious and critical view of artificial intelligence.[2]
