Ryo Tabata (田畑 遼, Tabata Ryō, born 6 January 2008) is a Japanese tennis player.[1][2]

Career

He started playing tennis in Saitama, before training at the Musashinomura Lawn Tennis Club in Tokyo.[3]

In 2022, he competed for Japan at the Asia-Oceania World Junior Tennis under-14 boys tournament.[4] He won the Dunlop Road to AO Junior Championships in 2023 to earn a wildcard into the boys's singles at the 2024 Australian Open.[5]

In April 2025, he won the singles at the ITF World Junior Tour J300 Kuching event.[6]

He reached the semi-finals in the boys' singles at the 2025 French Open with a win over Bulgarian Alexander Vasilev in straight sets before facing Niels McDonald of Germany, losing in straight sets.[7][8][3]
