Overview
[edit]Small Giants is a woman-owned full-service marketing agency, predominantly serving the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, & Construction) and CRE (Commercial Real Estate) industries for more than 18 years. The team consists primarily of women (61%) who provide strategic and creative marketing for the industry to promote their companies, brands, and projects at a local, regional, and national level.
History
[edit]Small Giants began in 2006 with the goal of elevating the state of marketing, public relations (PR), and communications within the AEC and CRE world. Small Giants is a Certified Woman-Owned Business founded by Danielle Feroleto.
In 2018, Small Giants was recognized as one of OUTSIDE Magazine’s Best Places to Work.[1] The winning companies create excellent workplaces for employees and promote a balance between work and enjoying life in the great outdoors, while emphasizing supportive work practices. The 2018 list became highly competitive, featuring only 50 companies compared to 100 in previous years.
Small Giants opened their 9,300-square-foot office at 5555 E. Van Buren St. in Phoenix in 2023, nearly triple the size of its previous location. Small Giants was previously located at 8100 E. Indian School Road in Suite 201 in Scottsdale. Entering the Denver market about a decade ago as a result of referrals from their clients and a clear demand for its services, Small Giants also has an office in downtown Denver.[2]
In April of 2024, Small Giants launched the Academy for Construction Excellence. Guided by an advisory council with over 200 years of combined construction education experience across all facets of the industry, this initiative aims to help construction professionals achieve their full potential through tailored training programs and expert support.[3] The advisory council for the Academy is comprised of industry veterans:
- Andrew Atkinson, Managing Partner and Certified Work Comp Advisor at INSURICA Southwest
- Danielle Feroleto, Owner and President of Small Giants and an adjunct professor in the Del E. Webb School of Construction at Arizona State University
- Michael J. Holden, Founding Member at Holden Willits PLC
- Anthony Jeffers, Director of Project Development at Hensel Phelps
- Erica Lange, Training and Career Development Director at GCON, Inc.
- Carol McMullen, retired industry educator and a member of the Arizona State University Construction Advisory Committee
- John Murdough, partner emeritus at Baker Tilly US
- Jennifer Swanson, Executive Administrator/Special Projects at Small Giants

Danielle Feroleto, CPSM, founded Small Giants in 2006. The firm’s foundation in serving the CRE and AEC industries was established through Feroleto’s background in commercial construction, including editor roles for two construction publications and marketing and business development experience at a large general contractor for nearly a decade. The result has been passion, application and understanding the industry to serve more than 300 clients in achieving their goals and visions to compete at the highest level. In 2015, Danielle was named one of the “Most Influential Women in Commercial Real Estate.”
Danielle pioneered the first marketing and business development course at the Del E. Webb School of Construction at Arizona State University in 2014, where she has served as an associate faculty member, educating hundreds of future construction professionals. In addition, her book “The Truth Helps: An Honest, Straightforward Guide to Project Interview Success,” has served as a guiding light for teams to win projects.
Danielle has received several formal acknowledgments for her leadership, influence, work in the community and thought-leadership. Danielle earned a Masters in Mass Communication from Arizona State University.
