Draft:Super-Dimensional

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Super-dimensional or a superdimension is a term used in science fiction, physics, and mathematics to describe spaces or phenomena that extend beyond the familiar three spatial dimensions and time (known together as four-dimensional spacetime). It generally refers to concepts involving five or more dimensions, often used to explore theoretical models or additional spatial directions.[1][2]

A five-dimensional (5D) space is a mathematical or physical concept referring to a space with five independent dimensions. In physics and geometry, such a space extends the standard three spatial dimensions plus time by introducing an additional degree of freedom. This extra dimension is commonly used in theories of higher-dimensional gravity, extra dimensions in cosmology, or speculative scenarios in science fiction.[3]

The term "super-dimensional" is synonymous with the Japanese word 超次元 (Chōjigen), widely used in anime, manga, and science fiction literature to depict worlds, beings, or technologies that transcend ordinary physical laws by existing in super-dimensional realms which are 5D or higher.[4]
