Timirdine (EGYT 4201) is an imino thiazolidine derivative that has been investigated as a potential antidepressant agent. Preclinical studies have demonstrated its activity in several behavioral models relevant to depression, suggesting that it may possess a unique pharmacological profile distinct from traditional monoaminergic antidepressants.
