TrendForce was founded in 2000 and is headquartered in Taipei, Taiwan. It focuses on market intelligence and data services in technology sectors including semiconductors, consumer electronics, and display panels. Its research reports and data have been cited by numerous international media outlets and industry reports.

In 2015, TrendForce acquired Topology Research Institute (TRI). Following the merger, its research scope expanded to include industrial policy, macroeconomics, and supply chain analysis.[1]
