Undercover employee ~ let me be your spy (裏社員。-スパイやらせてもろてます‐, Ura shain - Supai Yarasete Morotemasu ‐) is the first movie in which all seven West. members participate.[1][2] It was announced during West's 10th Anniversary Osaka Shochikuza Performance.[3]
Scheduled to be released on May 2, 2025, "Undercover employee" is an original story spy action slapstick comedy movie. It is directed by Tōichirō Rutō .[3][2][1][4][5][6]
Plot
[edit]A company's "undercover employees" are employees who go beyond their normal duties and deal with problems that cannot be solved in the open. Agawa Construction employees are given a mission by their boss to demolish a shuttered shopping street in order to build a commercial complex, so they go undercover. But they find out that undercover employees from Kawabata Construction, a rival company, have already infiltrated the shopping street with the same mission. The targets of both companies are the town's major landowners. However, the more they work, the more the undercover employees are loved by the residents of the shopping street. An unexpected situation ensues involving the residents of the targeted shopping street. A passionate man who tries to revive the shopping street that is on the verge of collapse and a man with some kind of secret appear.

- Yoichiro (Daiki Shigeoka) Resident
A hot-blooded man who grew up in and loves the shopping street. In order to protect it, he is engaged to the only daughter of the landowner.[4][1][2][3]
- Makoto (Nozomu Kotaki) Resident
He wanders around the shopping district every day. He is Yoichiro's childhood friend, but there is some resentment between the two.[4][1][2][3]
- Sakura Katase (Yuri Tsunematsu)
Poster girl for a coffee shop in the shopping district. Childhood friend and love interest of both Yoichiro and Makoto.[7]
Agawa Construction
- Utage (Akito Kiriyama) Undercover employee
A lone wolf who has been betrayed in the past and does not trust people. He is skilled in all kinds of party tricks.[4][1][2][3]
- Takada (Tomohiro Kamiyama) Undercover employee
He doesn't lie and won't be satisfied unless he says everything he thinks. He's a good cook.[4][1][2][3]
- Shoshiki (Takahiro Hamada) Undercover employee
He is knowledgeable about all genres. He gives objective opinions in a nonchalant manner, which is annoying.[4][1][2][3]

- Jin (Junta Nakama) Undercover employee
The ace undercover employee of Kawabata Construction. He's serious at heart, but he portrays himself as a bit of a frivolous guy. He's good at fighting.[4][1][2][3]

A lovable idiot with a lighthearted personality and a playful fashion sense. He worships Jin.[4][1][2][3]

Production
[edit]The film started production on location in Tokyo, Kanagawa, Gunma, Saitama, Ibaraki, and other suburbs of Tokyo, as well as in Osaka.[4][1] It is scheduled to be completed in mid-April.[2][3]
The film's theme song is West.'s "Westside Soul!", a funky number written by Tortoise Matsumoto (lyrics) and music and production by Ulfuls.[4][1][2][3]
