The untitled Minecraft series is an upcoming computer-animated adventure television series based on the 2011 video game Minecraft, created by Swedish video game development studio Mojang Studios. It is being developed by Canadian animation studio WildBrain and is set to premiere on Netflix at an unspecified date.[3] The series marks the second collaboration between Mojang and Netflix since Minecraft: Story Mode was made available on the streaming platform in 2018.[4]
Production
[edit]The series was first announced during the celebration of Minecraft's 15th anniversary, in which a short teaser trailer was uploaded to YouTube on 30 May 2024.[5] Animation studio WildBrain was reported to be producing the series, with Netflix stating that the series "will feature an original story with new characters, showing the world of Minecraft in a new light."[6][3]
Netflix is scheduled to premiere a first look at the series as part of their "Animated Series Studio Focus" at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival on 12 June 2025.[1][2]
