"Username 666" is a japanese creepypasta YouTube video in 2008[1] by PiroPito (better known as nana825763) (born 1988).[2] The video shows a fictional scenario where a internet user punching "www.youtube.com/666" into their browser and refreshing until they're taken to a heavily distorted, hellish version of the website.[3]
Plot
[edit]In this video, an unseen computer user attempts to visit a 2006 style YouTube channel URL "www.youtube.com/666" with the name bearing the number of the beast. The account is suspended, but this intrepid Internet explorer will not be deterred. As they refresh the page a few times. Slowly the layout of YouTube start to take on a more sinister tone, until they're taken to a heavily distorted, hellish and bloody version of the website.[3][4][5] at the end of the video a hand comes out of the screen and the video cuts out.[6][2]
History
[edit]PiroPito, better know by there online handle nana825763[7] (born 1988)[8] is a japanese surrealist filmmaker game developer and let's player. best known for his "Username 666" video and other horror videos, like "Another YouTube" and "my house walk-through".[9][10][11]
In an interview with PiroPito, he stated that he's inspirited by "various films and novels, cult films, avant-garde films, surrealist films and paintings, dreams and the unconscious.'' and artists like "Shuji Terayama, Quay Brothers, Schwann Kmeier, Yasutaka Tsutsui, Kobo Abe, Yumeno Kyusaku, Greenaway, Suzan Pitt, Andre Breton, Max Ernst, Shigeru Mizuki".[7] PiroPito has been uploading videos since 2006. In an article by Buzzfeed News, Rachael Krishna praised his Minecraft let's play for being charming.[8][2][12] Since 2019 PiroPito started making the game Metaphysical Region, with a trailer releasing in 2023. The game is still in development.[2][7]
In 2022, there was a bug, where if you changed the YouTube URL "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=" and removed the letter "H", the video would redirect to the Username 666 video.[1]
