It develops artificial intelligence (AI) technologies used to analyze long-form video and generate metadata related to mood, tone, and context. The company's products are used by streaming services and broadcasters to enhance search, discovery, preview generation, and advertising workflows.
History
[edit]Vionlabs was established in 2010. Initially focused on video indexing, it later shifted toward AI-based analysis of audiovisual content. Its technology extracts structural and emotional information from video to support functions such as recommendation systems and automated preview generation.
In 2019, Vionlabs was profiled by FEED Magazine, which described its use of AI as a means to improve the alignment between viewer preferences and content discovery.[1]

Customers include Plex,[4] Canela Media, Crunchyroll, Hulu Japan, Paramount+, and Pluto TV. The company’s integration with Zeam Media was announced in 2025 to support editorial workflows for local content.[5][6]
