Wed Wabbit is an upcoming animated fantasy comedy film based on the book of the same name by Lissa Evans, directed by Olly Reid. Produced from Locksmith Animation, in association with Timeless Films and Cantilever Media, this is the first freature from Locksmith to be an independent film than their previous works from Ron's Gone Wrong and That Christmas.
Production
[edit]In February 2018, it was announced that Locksmith Animation was developing Wed Wabbit as a live-action/animated hybrid film based on Lissa Evans' children's book, originally served as the first live-action/animated hybrid film from Locksmith under 20th Century Fox.[1] In October 2019, after Disney took over 20th Century Fox, Locksmith formed a new multi-year production deal with Warner Bros. Pictures, which would distribute three Locksmith films under the Warner Animation Group label after the release of Ron's Gone Wrong, which was now the only theatrical Locksmith film to be distributed by 20th Century Studios.[2]
There were no updates until January 2025, when Locksmith announced that Wed Wabbit would now be a fully animated film, with Timeless Films launching sales at the European Film Market, and Warner Bros. was reportedly no longer attached to the project.[3]
