Zawad Amin (born 12 June, 1998) is the first ever FPL (Fantasy Premier League) Challenge winner.[1][2][3][4] Born and raised in Dhaka, Bangladesh, he won the competition in the 2024-25 Premier League season. By doing this, he has become the first person from South Asia to win in any format of the competition. He is also a researcher, having experiences of several international conference presentations and journal articles.

Early life and education
[edit]Zawad attended Manarat Dhaka International School and College, St. Joseph Higher Secondary School and Navy Anchorage School and College Khulna. He obtained a Bachelor of Civil and Environmental Engineering from North South University on a merit based scholarship. In addition to this, he worked at the university as a Teaching Assistant for 3 years.
Personal life
[edit]Zawad's father Golam Faruk Patwary is a retired banker at a government bank and his mother Mahamuda Akter is a social worker. His elder brother, Zunayeed Amin is an engineer working at a renowned company in Australia. Zawad says his passion for football was inspired by his elder brother and father. His younger brother Zayan Amin has interest in playing cricket for his nation one day.
Zawad met Sumaiya Sakishib Wriddhi in 2016 when they were students at St. Joseph Higher Secondary School and Viqarunnisa Noon School respectively. Later in 2023, they got married officially while studying together at university.
Achievements
[edit]Zawad's story to win the first ever full season of Fantasy Premier League Challenge is truly inspiring. In an interview with the Premier League, he said "Winning FPL Challenge means so much to me, especially because I come from a country that is still far behind in the global FIFA rankings."[1]
Also a researcher in the field of environmental engineering, Zawad co-authored an article in a Scopus indexed academic journal that was published on March, 2025.[5] This research article is expected to have a significant impact in the field of sustainable manufacturing, as it extensively evaluates material waste management practices across thirteen manufacturing facilities in Bangladesh’s textile and apparel sector, with a specific focus on fast fashion production.
