Ed Heck (born March 26, 1963) is an American pop artist.
Biographie
[edit]Ed Heck, who lives in Brooklyn, was passionate about drawing as a child. He often used books as a model to copy the images.[1] After graduating from the School of Visual Arts (BFA) in 1987, Heck initially worked as an illustrator at the American Museum of Natural History.[2] He also illustrated children's books. His frequently used motifs include dogs, cats, and fish. The books he illustrated are primarily aimed at four- to eight-year-olds, which he often publishes together with Price Stern Sloan.
Line drawings, which he created in the evenings to relax, soon developed into a passion. His first exhibition at the Artexpo in New York in 1999 was a huge success. In 2004, he left his position at the American Museum and focused on his own art company, "The World of Ed Heck," which he founded in 1999.
Since 2010, Heck has regularly visited Germany to personally present his art at exhibitions in branches of Galerie Mensing.[1] In November 2022, he held his first extensive exhibition at Galerie Hunold in Greven and attended the opening in person.
