Emilio Quaia is an Italian radiologist and academic. He is a professor of Radiology and head of the Radiology Department at the University of Padova.[1]

Education

[change | change source]

Quaia obtained his medical degree from the University of Udine in 1995. He completed his residency in Radiology at the University of Trieste, followed by a Master’s in Management and Direction of Health Organizations from the University of Trento in 2011, and another Master’s in Statistical Methods Applied to Clinical Questions from the University of Modena in 2016.[1][2][3][4][3]

Quaia began his academic career in 1999 as an assistant professor of Radiology at the University of Trieste, where he was later promoted to associate professor.[5] Between 2016 and 2018, he served as a senior lecturer and honorary consultant in Radiology at the University of Edinburgh. In 2018, he joined the University of Padova as a professor and has been the department head since then.[1][6][7]

He is the editor-in-chief of the journal Tomography[8] and deputy editor of Insights into Imaging.[9][5][10]

Research

[change | change source]

Quaia’s work focuses on diagnostic imaging, with particular expertise in contrast-enhanced ultrasound and cross-sectional imaging of the liver, kidneys, and thoracic structures. His studies include evaluation of microbubble contrast agents and comparisons between imaging modalities in disease detection and monitoring.[11][12][13][14]
