Encyc is a free, short, widely useful encyclopedia written by volunteers using collaborative wiki software. Encyc gives another choice to other more popular encyclopedias. Encyc makes very readable articles that look good on smart phones. Encyc started in the year 2008.

Encyc is a kinder, gentler wiki encyclopedia, where new articles are welcome. Encyc makes the internet a more diverse and interesting place. One big website can develop a common style, whereas many little ones bring unique viewpoints.
