The flashing is really distracting and fairly useless in understanding the concept of a second. I think it would enhance the page if the gif is removed. I can some value in showing the duration of a second, but there should at least be a way to switch it off. As it is currently, it is hard to imagine that enhances the understanding of the article rather than cause an unpleasant and distracting irritation.

It's also going slightly too fast - by every clock and watch I can find to compare it with, analogue and digital. 84.92.8.221 (talk) 15:53, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
