Fukamushicha (Japanese: 深蒸し茶, lit.'deep-steamed tea') is a type of Japanese green tea that undergoes a longer steaming process compared to standard sencha.[1][2] It is typically steamed for 60 to 120 seconds, resulting in smaller tea leaf particles and a darker green infusion.[3] This method is intended to alter the flavor and appearance of the tea.[4][5] Fukamushicha is commonly produced in regions such as Shizuoka Prefecture, including the city of Kikugawa.[6]
