Reformed Church

People have lived in the area since ancient times, and parts of a late Stone Age castle have been discovered there. The village was first recorded in 1246 as Bywd. Its Romanesque church was constructed in the 13th century. During the Turkish period and the Rákóczi War, many residents escaped. In 1711, a plague outbreak hit the area hard. By the 18th century, it was nearly empty. In the early 19th century, landowners brought serfs to the village.
