Humain is a Saudi artificial intelligence company established under the Public Investment Fund to drive the Kingdom's AI strategy. Officially launched on May 12, 2025, by Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Humain aims to position Saudi Arabia as a global leader in AI innovation and infrastructure.[1]

Background and establishment

[edit]

Humain was founded as part of Saudi Arabia's broader efforts to diversify its economy and reduce dependence on oil revenues through technological innovation. The company was announced during a high-profile Saudi-U.S. investment forum in Riyadh, attended by U.S. President Donald Trump and tech leaders such as Elon Musk and Sam Altman and Arvind Krishna and Andy Jassy and Jensen Huang. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman chairs both Humain and the Public Investment Fund, ensuring alignment with national objectives and facilitating the mobilization of resources to achieve the Kingdom's ambitious AI goals.[2]

The establishment of Humain aligns with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, which aims to transform the Kingdom into a global hub for technological advancement and innovation. By focusing on AI infrastructure and services, Humain is expected to contribute to the development of a knowledge-based economy and create high-tech job opportunities within the Kingdom.

Mission and services

[edit]

Humain's mission is to develop and manage cutting-edge AI technologies and infrastructure. The company plans to offer a comprehensive suite of AI services, including:

  • Next-generation data centers
  • AI infrastructure and cloud technologies
  • Advanced AI models and solutions
  • Development of one of the world's most powerful multimodal Arabic large language models (LLMs)[3]

These initiatives are designed to support innovation, economic transformation, and the localization of AI technologies in Saudi Arabia.[4]

Strategic partnerships

[edit]

During U.S. President Donald Trump's visit to Saudi Arabia in May 2025, Humain secured significant partnerships with leading American technology companies:[5]

  • Nvidia: Agreed to supply at least 18,000 Blackwell GPUs to Humain, with plans to expand this number significantly.[6]
  • AMD: Committed to a $10 billion investment in joint AI infrastructure projects.
  • Qualcomm: Signed a memorandum of understanding to co-develop a central processor data center with Humain.[5]

Additionally, Amazon Web Services plans to establish a $5 billion AI Zone in Saudi Arabia, and Supermicro has entered a $20 billion deal with DataVolt to co-develop data centers across Saudi Arabia and the U.S.
