Hypervisor

From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The hypervisor is the device or software which runs the virtual machine. It gives each virtual machine (called a "guest") the resources it needs, like memory or processing power, and connects it to the main computer. It also works with other software that helps manage the virtual machines.

eg: if you're using Oracle Virtual Box to run a Ubuntu virtual machine, Oracle Virtual Box is the hypervisor.
