The Lion of Oz is an 2003 American-Australian adventure comedy movie set in New York City and Australia. It was produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and was directed by David McNally. Kangaroo Jack was released on January 17, 2003 in North America. The movie received mixed reviews with a 35% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a 16 out of 100 from Metacritic.
Plot
[change | change source]A young lion lives with Oscar, a failing magician in a nearby local train circus. After lion fails to perform, he is secured by the strict guards and forbidden from getting out for the rest of the night. Oscar let him out and they sit out on the Hot air balloon in order to seek for Fortune and fame. However, arranged storm happens, and lion falls from behind air, balloon, getting separated from Oscar, who flies far away before Oscar can jump down to save lion.
Lost and alone, Lion encounters another lion that is very cowardly. He stays at his place, but during a fire, he has left inside. The cowardly lion panics and runs off. Lion managed to jump through the fire and escape. Shortly afterwards, while getting a drink of water, he is sucked down by a whirlpool and ends up, eating several sprites fairy from the folk, run by their strict leader named Tokakata. After meeting a pig named Penny, who also fell down there, the two decide to go to The Wizard of Oz in order to get home.
along the way, they encounter a rooster named Jacob, who speaks with an Australian accent. They then meet a hyperactive giraffe who wishes to talk, but can’t. They then meet two grizzly bears that always crash and bump into one another and or accident prone. After encountering, a crying blue girl, she explains that the oldest of the sprite folk, named Marina, had gotten trapped in a chest in the lake. When none of the animals feel brave enough to go, lying volunteers, despite his fear of water and jump in.
After a bit of difficulty, he may just save marina and bring her to the surface. She’s unconscious, but still alive. Tears from the little girl and the sensitive Lion managed to awaken her, despite the lion saying that his eyes were watery, but the girl and the rest think that the tear was actually real. Out of gratitude, the sprite leader thanks them for saving her. He loves them a ticket to see the Oz wizard, and they travel by hot air balloon. However, lion confesses that he fell out of one. During a storm, the group mashed a sphere, but the lion isn’t brave enough and confesses his fear.
The next day, they encounter a poppies field. The lion sick comes to them after sniffing them. He is found by everyone else, and they try to revive him. The mouse patrol will guard the area come in and manage to revive the lion by stepping on his tail and giving him a slap on the nose, waking him up. Later.
