Karl Giesser (born October 29, 1928 – January 15, 2010) was an Austrian football player. He played as midfielder for SK Rapid Wien. He also played for the Austrian national football team.

Karl Giesser spent his entire playing career at SK Rapid Wien. He made his championship debut in 1949. With the Hütteldorfers he became multiple Austrian champions as well as one cup winner and winner of the Zentropacup. After winning his seventh championship title, Giesser ended his active career in 1964.

International

On 11 April 1954, Giesser made his debut for the Austrian national team in the 0-1 defeat in the friendly against Hungary. His last match was on 19 November 1961 versus Yugoslavia. Overall played four international matches for Austria. [1]

He was in the Austrian squad for the 1954 World Cup in Switzerland. He was not used during the tournament.

Aftter the end of his active career Giesser worked as coach in the youth sector. He was the first youth coach of the later national team player Toni Polster at FK Austria Wien. In the 1975/76 and 1976/77 seasons he was Karl Stotz's assistant coach. [2]
