Kottayam Ramesh is an Indian film actor, who works predominantly in Malayalam films, and has also worked as a television actor and theatre artist. He was widely acclaimed for his role as driver Kumaran in the film Ayyappanum Koshiyum. He received the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi's Kala Pratibha Award in 2024.[1][2][3]
Career & early life
[edit]Ramesh was born and raised in Kottayam. After completing his tenth grade, he worked as a theatre actor for a long time at the Kalanilayam Nadakavedhi . He first stepped in front of the camera with the film Thaalappoli released in 1975. Later, in the 1980s, he played a small role in the film Chillu Kottaram with Sukumaran, and after that in the film Najangalude Kochu Doctor in 1989.[4] Later, in 2018, he played a small role in the film Carbon directed by Venu.[5] Noticing his role in that film, Sachy called him for the film Ayyappanum Koshiyum.[6]
