Life and career

[edit]

Leah Kateb was born on August 11, 1999, in Los Angeles, California. She has Persian and Iranian roots from her parents, and has a sister named Daria.[1] In 2024, she was cast on season 6 of Love Island.[2] She was initially coupled up with Rob Rausch and Connor Newsum before coupling up with Miguel Harichi on day 15. Kateb and Harichi went on to become the runner-ups on day 32.[3] Her early relationship with Rausch on the show led to large followings as fans quickly became obsessed with their coupling and how she handled herself throughout it.[1] She also had many of her one-liners go viral on TikTok,[4] which also contributed to her large followings, and a spike in viewers.[5] Kateb's friendship with fellow islanders Serena Page and JaNa Craig also went viral as viewers fell in love with their friendship, known as PPG.[6] Fans have called for the three of them to get their own show after watching their friendship develop over the season and after filming.[7] She has since received multiple endorsements after appearing on the show.[8] Following the success of her season of Love Island, it was announced in 2025 that she would appear in Peacock's spinoff series Love Island: Beyond the Villa.[9][10]
