It went to number 6 in the United States, number 31 in the United Kingdom, number 1 in Canada, number 17 in New Zealand, number 14 in Ireland, number 4 in Australia, number 3 in Ecuador and number 7 in Sweden. The song was used in the 1984 movie Beverly Hills Cop.
