Not Myself Tonight

From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"Not Myself Tonight" is a song by American singer Christina Aguilera, from her 2010 album Bionic. It came out on April 6, 2010, as the first single from the album.

The song was created by music producer Polow da Don and songwriters Greg Curtis, Ester Dean, and Jason Perry. It has a fast, electronic beat and is about Christina taking on different personalities while dancing.

The song got mixed reviews—some people liked the music, while others didn’t like the lyrics. It became very popular in some countries, reaching the Top 5 in Hungary and Japan, and the Top 15 in Canada, Scotland, Italy, and the UK. In total, it was in the Top 40 in 21 countries, including the U.S., where it reached number 23 on the Billboard Hot 100. It also became a number-one dance song in the U.S. and was certified gold in Australia for selling over 35,000 copies.

The music video, directed by Hype Williams, was released on April 28, 2010. It was inspired by Madonna’s “Express Yourself” video and had a sexy S&M theme. Christina performed the song live at events like the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, VH1 Storytellers, and The Oprah Winfrey Show to promote it.
