Oachira or Ochira (Ōcciṟa) is in the Karunagappalli taluk of Kollam district. It includes areas of Kayamkulam in Alappuzha district and Kollam district. Ochira Gram Panchayat came into existence in 1953. Gram panchayats of Ochira, Kulasekharapuram, Thazhava, and Klapana are included in the Ochira block.[citation needed]
It is considered a sacred place by some.[1]
