Patrick Roy Trophy

The Patrick Roy Trophy (French: Trophée Patrick-Roy) is awarded annually by the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) to the goaltender deemed "Goaltender of the Year". The trophy was first created for the 2023–24 season, and is named after Patrick Roy, who played three seasons in the QMJHL from 1982 to 1985 with the Granby Bisons, before a storied career in the National Hockey League with the Montreal Canadiens and the Colorado Avalanche.[1]
In order to be eligible, a goaltender must have appeared in 40% of the minutes played by their team during the season. The trophy is distinct from the QMJHL's longstanding Jacques Plante Memorial Trophy, which is awarded to the QMJHL goaltender with the best goals against average.[1]
