Safa Ali

Safa Ali Mohamed Yosif (born 24 February 1979, in Omdurman) is a Sudanese consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist based at Al-Saudi Maternity Hospital in Al-Fasher, North Darfur, Sudan.[1]

Ali is a native Arabic speaker and also speaks advanced English; she practices Islam and is married.[2]

She has been instrumental in providing maternal healthcare amid the ongoing conflict in Sudan, often operating under dangerous conditions.[3] Her dedication has earned her recognition, including being named among the BBC's 100 Most Inspiring and Influential Women in 2024.[4]
