History

Founders of Slyce in 2024, Jorge Castello Branco and Felipe Tersi, aged 25 and 28 respectively at that time, both worked in the Mergers and Acquisitions division at Itaú BBA for three years before deciding to leave the bank to pursue entrepreneurial ventures—Branco first, followed by Tersi a few months later. Branco, who had previously played college soccer in the United States, cited a long-standing passion for entrepreneurship and sports as his main motivation. Inspired by his older brother, who had founded a nutritional supplement brand, he envisioned creating a sportswear brand. From the outset, his focus was on brand identity and concept development, aiming to compete with established companies such as Fila, Nike, and Adidas.[3]
With support from former professional tennis player Mauro Menezes, Branco began arranging meetings with suppliers, event organizers, and athletes to develop the project. The brand was designed from its inception with international ambitions. Its name, “Slyce,” is derived from the tennis term “slice,” with the letter “y” added for visual appeal in the logo design.[3]
On April 30, 2025, the brand opened its first store at the MorumbiShopping in São Paulo, Brasil.[3]
