Symbiosexuality
Appearance
Symbiosexuality refers to an attraction to the energy, dynamic, or connection shared between persons in a preexisting relationship.[1][2] It was first used in 2021 by researcher Sally Johnston in a presentation at the Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality conference.[1][3]
Research
[change | change source]A 2024 study has since expanded its definition to describe attraction to the "multidimensionality, power, and synergy" of relationships, normally described as that which is "greater than the sum of its parts."[4]
