Why is an article on American Jews illustrated with a photo of the grave of a Confederate soldier?

The title says it all: why pick a picture of a grave of a Confederate soldier? There are a huge num ber of other choices that do not tie Jews to slavery, even indirectly. How about a photo of the grave of a Jewish Union soldier. More Jews fought for the Union than the confederacy. Or, if you want 'balance,' put them together. Or show a photo of a grave from WWII, where far more Jews fought than during the civil war.
